Harold Maisel was born on October 18, 1915, in Mobile, Alabama. On _______(?), 1945, he married Ethel Miller in Mobile, Alabama. Ethel was born on August 20, 1920, in Camden, Alabama, and had moved to Mobile in 1922.
Harold briefly attended the University of Alabama and Spring Hill College before entering the Navy wherein he was a Seabee stationed in Alaska.
Prior to their marriage, Ethel Miller had graduated from Murphy High School in 1937, and had worked for the Mobile Register.
After their wedding, Harold and Ethel moved to Belfast, Maine, where he was in partnership with his father in the Belfast Manufacturing Co., a clothing manufacturing business that they operated along with the Kalikows. In 1952, they moved to Jackson, Georgia, where they opened the KYM Co., also a clothing manufacturing plant, along with the Kalikows. In 1955, they moved to Atlanta, a short commute from Jackson.
In 1973, in retirement, Harold and Ethel moved back to Mobile, Alabama. Harold died on November 23, 1977, and is buried in Congregation Ahavas Chesed Cemetery in Mobile. Ethel continues to live in Mobile.
