Neal E. Buchman is single and has no children.

Neal graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1978 with a B.B.A. degree in accounting. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1981, and was admitted to the practice of law in October of 1981.

Neal served as law clerk for the Honorable Gordon B. Kahn, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of Alabama (and Maisel cousin; see Mary Maisel Kahn), and then was engaged in the private practice of general and real estate law for approximately 10 years, first with the law firm of Loveless and Banks, and then as a sole practitioner. Neal is now engaged in the family real estate and property management business, Buchman & Leacy Real Estate Co., Inc.

Neal served several terms on the Board of Directors of the Mobile Jaycees and of the Greater Gulf State Fair. He was president of the Greater Gulf State Fair in 1989, and served as its Chairman of the Board in 1991 and 1994.

Neal is also a principal in On-Line Information Services, Inc., a company engaged in providing computer access to public government records using the Internet. On-Line provides the website for the Maisel Family Pages, and Neal serves as webmaster.
