Louis Maisel was born in Poland in 1901. He migrated to America with his father in 19__(?). He lived in New York and New Jersey prior to moving to Mobile, Alabama in 19___(?). He married Anna Liebeskind in New Jersey in 19__(?).

Louis, also known as "Louie" to his family, and Anna operated a grocery business in Mobile for many years. Louie also operated a construction business known as Maisel Construction Company. In their retirement years, Louie and Anna also operated Maisel Cottages in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

After Anna died in 1971, Louie was also briefly married to Minnie (who died in 1975). He then lived in Miami for a short time, where he married Guillermina. They were divorced in 19___(?), at which time he moved back to Mobile to live the remainder of his life.
